Psychology PhD/Masters?

Psychology PhD/Masters?

Hi,

I'm interested in getting a masters and/or PhD in a field in psychology. I have a question, however. Do you need a masters to be admitted into a PhD program? I read somewhere that you can apply for a PhD program and along the way receive a masters if you do not completely finish the PhD program? Or am I wrong? I'm looking into mainly PhD programs at University of California schools. Overall, I'm getting a Bachelors in Psychology, but can I go to a PhD automatically after, or must I complete a masters first?
